Since we were established in 1988, our main activity has been to develop our first phase of the co-op. This consists of 26 row houses, located at 416 Elliott Avenue (near Division and Elliott), Kingston, developed under the CMHC Index Linked Mortgage (ILM) program . More recently, we have broadening our management and committee system to operate successfully.
We are actively involved with other co-operative and non-profit housing groups operating in the Kingston and Seaway Valley area
SEAWAY VALLEY CO-OP ORGANIZATION
(SVCO)
We are founding members of the Seaway Valley Co-op Organization
which represents housing co-ops in the Seaway Valley area. We
have been actively involved in the SVCO educational and social
activities since its inception.
LOIS MILLER CO-OP AND WELLER ARMS
We are involved in a joint property management system with Lois
Miller Co-op and Weller Arms Non-Profit Homes. We share
administrative staff and management systems between all three
organizations
KINGSTON NON-PROFIT HOUSING
ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION (KNPHA)
Both of our staff members have been meeting regularly with other
non-profit housing managers and staff through the Kingston
Non-Profit Housing Administrators Association
RELATIONSHIPS WITH SUPPORT SERVICE
AGENCIES
We actively take referrals from a number of different
organizations in Kingston whose clients are in need of housing.
These include Interval House, Dawn House and Kingston and
District Immigrant Services.
We are associated with and enjoy the support of the following community groups:

The co-operative experience enjoyed by our members has encouraged a network of ties to the community. Our members are active in various community development efforts including:
KINGSTON HOUSING REGISTRY
Our staff have been involved involved with the Housing Registry to allow easier "one window shopping" to those looking for housing.
We are founding members and active particpants of our local association of housing co-operatives, the Seaway Valley Co-op Organization.
We also have informal connections with numerous associations and contacts in the non-profit housing sector, including the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association, and the North American Students of Co-operation.
We encourage both potential and existing residents to become involved in both our existing and new developments through our various co-op committees.
